      Metal 3D Printing

Metal 3D printing offers many advantages. One of them is the rapid availability of one to more than 50 parts in just a few working days. This makes the process perfect for producing prototypes in high-quality materials. Several functions such as one-piece assemblies and weight reduction are advantages of the process, which can also be implemented in series production. The introduction of near-contour cooling also makes metal 3D printing interesting for toolmaking.

    3. Metal injection moulding-MIM: innovative technology for manufacturing small, complex metal series parts

Metal injection moulding-MIM: innovative technology for manufacturing small, complex metal series parts

MIM technology for the series manufacturing of your complex metal parts. In the MIM process metal powder is mixed with polymer binder. This so-called "feedstock" is injection moulded on a conventional injection moulding machine. The result is a "green part", consisting of 60 vol% metal powder and 40 vol% binder (polymers and waxes). After injection moudling the main binder component is removed in a debinding step and sintered to >97% of the corresponding material density. During the sintering step the part shrinks as it can be observed in the picture above. With this innovative technology complex parts with tiny structures can be manufactured in high quantities.
