Radiation protection measures – Shielding of gamma radiation with highly filled plastic compounds
Radiation protection is a current topic in many areas, e.g. nuclear power or nuclear medicine. The shielding of gamma radiation is one of the most important radiation protection measures for humans. Tungsten compounds from PlastFormance offer an optimal alternative to conventional lead products for this purpose.

RadiciGroup - Technical polyamide compounds
RadiciGroup is one of the most internationally active Italian manufacturers of high-quality plastics. It has made a name for itself worldwide with products such as Radilon® and Radiflam® in the High Performance Polymers business area. RadiciGroup materials are used in clothing, sporting goods, furniture, automotive, electrical/electronics and household appliances.

Rapid Prototyping
Save time in developing the prototype that suits you best, and stay a few steps ahead of the competition. We support you in the implementation with the building blocks of our service packages and help you to gain a competitive advantage.

Rapid Tooling
In Rapid Tooling, injection molding tool inserts are designed on the basis of 3D input data and manufactured from high-strength aluminum using HSC milling. In this way - even when using original materials - you get extremely realistic prototypes with very good surface qualities that hardly differ from mass production in terms of component properties. The high strength of the tool inserts enables the production of pilot and small series using the original material in short cycle times. For the production of two- and multi-component injection molded parts (hard / hard or hard / soft), one injection mold is used for each component. Metal inserts can also be overmolded using insert technology.

Rapid Tooling - More efficiency. In manufacturing of prototypes in serial production quality.
With our protosys® rapid tooling process, we enable you to achieve maximum efficiency in your product development. We manufacture individual mould inserts for the production of near-series prototypes flexibly, quickly and cost-effectively. This allows you to work with fully functional components made of series material as early as during the development phase.

RAPID TOOLING - TOOL MAKING, DESIGN, FIXTURE CONSTRUCTION and INJECTION MOULDING
Pilot-run and small-scale series tools in rapid tooling. Electrical discharge machining (EDM). Precision and perfect timing – Wehl customers have been benefi ting from these signature characteristics for many years. We master challenging requirements of the production of pilot- run and small-scale series tools using the latest software at 8 CAD/CAM design workstations. Interfaces for many commonly used data formats are available. This also enables computer-aided, really fast mould separation and electrode design. The electrodes are manufactured on our HSC graphite machine and are fully automatically burnt into the mould inserts. Specifi c tasks such as undercuts are realized using loose parts. Our many years of experience and expertise are also used to produce multi-component parts and parts with insertmoulded inlays and strip conductors. • Service life at least approx. 1.000 – 20.000 parts • Multiple cavities and exchangeable inserts possible • Max. mould size of up to 520 mm (distance between tie bars) • Aluminium or steel mould inserts (can also be hardened) • Machines: Arburg - 3 Allrounder 270 (clamping force of 25-40 t) - 5 Allrounder 320 (clamping force of 50-85 t), 3 horizontal, 2 vertical and 2 with removal handling - Allrounder 370 M 1000-250 (clamping force of 100 t) - Allrounder 420 C 1000-290 (clamping force of 100 t) - Allrounder 470 M 1300-350 (clamping force of 130 t) - Allrounder 520 C 2000-675 (clamping force of 200 t) - BOY XS (clamping force of 10 t) injection weight 9,3 g • Plastic granulates with a melting point of up to 350 °C can be processed • Dry-air granulate dryer available • Residual moisture measurement possible • Mould temperature control up to 180°C • Complex parts with inlays and undercuts possible • Part volumes of up to around 690 ccm (+Intrusion) • Materials can also be coloured ERODE • 1 wire EDM machine • 1 sinking EDM maschine • 1 sinking EDM center with handling system GF Form 300 + Mikron Mill S400

Recompounds - Solutions for circular value creation
We offer solutions for polymer recycling that meet the requirements of one of the most important technologies of the future. Recompounds are an example of recycling engineering polymers to produce sustainable products based on industrial secondary raw materials. In addition to a comprehensive range of polymers and additives from the world’s leading manufacturers, we develop and produce compounds according to specific customer demands. The integration of alternative raw material sources into product development is becoming increasingly relevant. The recycling of reusable polymers from industrial production is an effective and sustainable solution for saving limited resources, reducing residual material quantities and emissions, and advancing the circular economy. Our recompounds are based on recycled production residues from the polymer industry, such as sprues or start-up parts. Recycling processes timely make the valuable raw materials available again for product development and processing. Innovative materials with specific properties are created from sorted regrind by compounding. These are reused in sophisticated technical applications, for example, for e-mobility or regenerative energies. The recycling concept enables reuse at a consistently high quality level. The properties of the recompounds can even be improved compared with the base material through targeted additives and modified to suit individual customer demands. For example, opaque to transparent materials and various color settings, such as for lighting applications like vehicle lighting, can be realized. With a view to circular value creation, we also advise customers on setting up their own circulation system to save resources and costs, achieve sustainability goals, prevent raw material shortages and supply bottlenecks, and secure competitiveness.

Recyclate
Recyclates make it possible to make products more sustainable by saving CO2 compared to virgin material. As one of the leading companies for the mechanical recycling of engineering and high performance plastics with over 60 years of experience, MKV offershigh quality recyclates. All recyclates comply with the respective legal requirements, such as Reach and RoHS, and are delivered with a product data sheet, safety data sheet and test certificate.
