TECNARO - Bioplastic granulates from Ilsfeld for the world!

TECNARO GmbH (TEChnologie NAchwachsende ROhstoffe) was founded in 1998 as a bioplastics pioneer from the Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Technology (ICT).
Today, TECNARO is one of the global technology and innovation leaders.

TECNARO's DNA is sustainability!

TECNARO develops, produces and distributes exclusively climate-friendly, CO2-neutral ARBOFORM®, ARBOFILL® and ARBOBLEND® bioplastic granulates based on renewable raw materials for the plastics processing industry. These are processed using conventional plastics processing machines, e.g. into reusable organic coffee cups, UHU glue sticks, Edding highlighters, Mockmill housings and even parts for Brembo SGL CARBON carbon ceramic brakes or RUD Ökomat snow chains.

TECNARO's work has been honoured many times over. For example, the ZDF programme WISO awarded the TV start-up prize to TECNARO back in 1999,
the European Patent Office the European Inventor Award 2010, the Institute for Inventions the Rudolf Diesel Medal 2011, TECNARO received the GREEN BRAND GERMANY***** for the sixth time in a row in 2023.

The organisers of the Congress of World Market Leaders awarded TECNARO 2nd place in the Innovation Champion Award in 2020.

Dr Walter Döring appointed the two TECNARO CEOs Jürgen Pfitzer and Helmut Nägele to the Senate of Economy Germany and the Senate of Economy Europe.

Bio-artificial turf made from ARBOBLEND® (NaKuRa): sustainable, environmentally friendly, suitable for play.

A product made from our ARBOBLEND® material: In Ellwangen, an artificial turf pitch made from bio-based materials has been created. A milestone for sustainable sports facilities in Germany and a model for Europe. With around 9,000 artificial turf pitches in Germany and an estimated 16,000 tons of microplastics released annually across the EU (source: ECHA), NaKuRa (sustainable artificial turf pitch) is an urgent contribution to ecological renewal. The focus is on the ARBOBLEND® infill – an innovative infill granulate that is biodegradable in soil and water and remains durable as long as it stays within the system – as well as the artificial turf fibers made from a specially developed ARBOBLEND® formula with high temperature and weather resistance. The other implemented environmentally friendly systems, such as the novel elastic layer based on pure recycled plastics, represent a well-considered step towards a circular economy. Sustainability in sports is not only possible – it is crucial for the future.

Anything is possible and doesn't cost the earth

ARBOFORM®, ARBOBLEND®, and ARBOFILL®: From the finest fibers for yarns and textiles, to completely pollutant-free baby toys, to robust molded parts like the "lost core"; for all Brembo SGL Carbon carbon ceramic brakes used by companies such as Porsche and Formula 1. We advise you on material selection, processing, mold and tool design, and all aspects of our materials. Our development team supports you throughout the development of your new product with extensive expertise in material, process, and application properties. Material parameters can be determined quickly and efficiently in our in-house laboratory to enable rapid material optimization when needed. All TECNARO bioplastics are completely free of PFAS and BPA, making them particularly environmentally and health-friendly. Furthermore, compared to plastics made from fossil raw materials, our materials boast a significantly better CO₂ footprint – in many cases, they even achieve a negative CO₂ value (cradle to gate). Our formulations thus actively contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gases and offer a sustainable alternative for a wide variety of applications.
