DRK Ulm - homelessness support
We at Easyfairs support this project!
An apartment offers more than just a roof over your head and protection from the cold and rain. It is a private space that you can design according to your own ideas. It is a place where people can retreat, relax and feel comfortable. Without a place of their own, this is irrelevant, regardless of whether they are employed or not.
The Ulm district association of the German Red Cross runs a night shelter for homeless people at Frauenstraße 123 on behalf of the city of Ulm.
Homeless people are admitted from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. in summer and from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. in winter. In special cases, such as when winter temperatures drop below freezing, the hours are adjusted.
At the overnight shelter, homeless people find
- a place to sleep
- shower facilities
- hot meals
- community
- protection from discrimination and violence
- a sympathetic ear
- personal support and referral to Ulm's homeless services (e.g. the Caritas advice centre).
